Information, Administration and Computing Training

More than ever, there is an increasing demand for good office personnel. Companies are interested in employing skilful first time employees in their administration offices, and are prepared to invest money in further training for the right employee. Therefore, they seek out well-trained qualified applicants who will be an asset to the overall success of their firms.

The Donahies Secretarial Department has for many years fulfilled that need for many firms both in the city and its suburbs. Candidates participate in a one-year training course in information, office administration and computer training under the direction of Maura Butler. On successful completion of their training, candidates are awarded a FETAC level 2 Certificate and are directed in their search for employment.

The course offers a broad range of skills, including Microsoft Office suite, internet and email, web design, desktop publishing, manual and computerised accounting, communications and tourism – to mention just some modules of the programme. Work experience in a related area is an integral part of their training and the Donahies has built up a strong rapport with firms in the surrounding areas who welcome our trainees and offer every assistance necessary to meet the needs of the student. We at the Donahies, express our deep gratitude to all firms who have offered students employment and we look forward to a bright future as we progress through 2008/2009.
